When CRX need to command our attention, they do it in a way that’s “hypnotic as fuck.” Well, at least according to guitarist Darian Zahedi.
Effectively giving us a peek at their forthcoming sophomore record, um, Peek, (out August 23), Nick Valensi’s Los Angeles group are demanding you drop your phone and instead fall into the abyss of their new single “We’re All Alone.” The tune, shared today (June 21), demonstrates a change of pace for CRX, especially compared to the band’s more hyper debut album New Skin.
“The recording was very different, because we made a big deal of tracking it as live as possible,” Zahedi adds. “We also let go and embraced some of these really cool influences that took us into the stratosphere. It was a combination of writing for over a year, getting out of our heads, and knowing what we wanted to sound like.”
